Keynote Speaker
Aida Sabo, Vice President, leads the Diversity/Inclusion Center of Excellence at Cardinal Health. Her focus is developing a long term Global Workforce Diversity Strategy in partnership with the leadership team and key functions of Cardinal Health. The focus of strategy will be on Communication, Recruiting/Retention, Training/Development and Life/Work Integration.
Cardinal Health is a global healthcare company that delivers products and services to help hospitals, physicians' offices and pharmacies improve cost effectiveness and deliver better care to patients. The company touches nearly every part of the U.S. healthcare system. It distributes one out of three pharmaceutical products in the U.S.; the medical products it manufactures and distributes are used by 90 percent of all hospitals in the U.S. The company employs IT pros in a wide range of disciplines, from ERP systems management to QA.
Aida Sabo has an impressive background. She was born to Mexican immigrants in Michoacán, Mexico and moved to California when she was three years old. Aida has a degree from the University of California, Davis and has taken graduate or executive courses from many other prestigious universities including Berkeley, Harvard and Stanford. Her career began at the Stanford Research Institute as a design engineer for radio monitoring systems before moving to Hewlett-Packard to work as a systems engineer and a business development manager. After HP split into HP and Agilent, Aida worked at Agilent as the diversity director. She then served as the Chief Diversity Officer for EMC in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. Aida joined Cardinal Health as the enthusiastic Vice President of Diversity in April of 2008. She is fluent in three languages; received numerous awards for her efforts in engineering, sales, and diversity; was invited to the White House to share Best Practices on developing Latino Leadership; and is a national and international speaker on diversity.
Aida earned a bachelors degree from the University of California - Davis and is currently working toward a Certificate of Business and Administration from the Harvard Business School Extension program.
